1. More acurate and efficient care for patients. Information technology allows for a decrease in human error. There is a more wholistic approach to the patient's care since all care providers have acces otht etechnology.
2. The use of technology to integrate information and decreasing patient care error.
3. It reduces the amount of time spent in hospitals and promote more independence and self-care. It also allows for a freedom of choice for the patient and including in them in their own care. The downside is expensive equipment. THere is also still room for error and more all of the devices require patient compliance and honsety. It also requires a certain level of coherency of the patient. The patient would need to be alert and oriented.
4. Sermo.com seems to be very beneficial for doctors to have their "caffeteria chats." However, it has a limited scope to only doctors and does not include other healthcare providers. Your inforamtion is limited to only the doctors that choose to be a part of sermo.com
